Discovering the Stream (À Descoberta da Ribeira) is a linear route of around 2.5 km, following the left bank of the stream between Ponte Grande da Torna and Açude Pinto River Beach.
Along the route there are 12 interpretation panels dedicated to the riverside ecosystem, rural constructions associated with water and local memories. Bridges, weirs, levadas, mills and river beaches help frame the relationship between the stream and the daily life of the local population.
The route is short and easy to follow, running along the southern side of the stream, in an area with shade and some wooden walkways.
The interpretation panels also include quotations from the work Memórias da Villa de Oleiros, published in 1881, relating each point to themes from local history and heritage.
