The Alvaiázere ➔ Abiúl stage of the GR26 - Terras de Sicó Long-distance Path - Olive Oil Route links the municipality of Alvaiázere to the village of Abiúl, in the municipality of Pombal. The route crosses woodland areas, hills, villages, watercourses and rural landscapes, following a trail marked by the diversity of the limestone scenery of Sicó.
In its initial section, the stage follows part of Alvaiázere's walking trail network, passing through Carrascal Woods and approaching Alvaiázere Mountain. From this area, the route continues towards the Megalapiás da Mata, limestone formations that highlight the characteristic geology of this territory.
The route then continues towards Bofinho and the Olho do Tordo Spring, later following the Tordo stream and passing near a traditional mill. The climb to Bouxinhas introduces further elements of the karst landscape, including the Bouxinhas Doline, before the route continues through villages, paved rural paths and countryside areas.
Between Almoster, Santa Cruz and Escusa Fountain, the stage crosses a territory where rural heritage, watercourses and small settlements come together. Further on, the route enters Vale da Abelha, crosses the Nabão River and follows its surroundings before climbing towards Gesteira, Portela do Fojo and Cabeço do Lelo.
In the final section, the route passes by the mills and the village of Corujeiras, before descending towards Abiúl via Quinta da Graça. This stage therefore brings together woodland landscapes, limestone formations, agricultural valleys, watercourses and rural heritage, offering a varied reading of the Terras de Sicó.
