Leça Terra e Mar

The Leça Land and Sea trail is a circular route that crosses different areas of Leça da Palmeira, connecting the seafront and the historic centre with inland areas associated with the locality's former rural life. The route reflects two defining dimensions of local identity: Leça linked to the sea, fishermen and the historic area, and Leça linked to the land, farmers and places such as Amorosa and Gonçalves. Along the trail, it is possible to observe several elements associated with local history, the relationship with the ocean and the urban development of Leça da Palmeira. The walk combines physical activity with cultural discovery, passing through places that represent collective memory and the connection between the coastal territory and the inland areas. With approximately 10 km in length and a low difficulty level, the route can be followed as a sports walk or at a slower pace, with time to visit the various points of interest along the way.
