PR1 SMF - Trilho Rio Uíma

Walk along the Uíma River, among mills, bridges, and natural landscapes

The PR1 SMF - Uíma River Trail follows the banks of the Uíma River, crossing a natural corridor marked by the presence of water and the diversity of fauna and flora that characterise this territory.

Along the route, between the parishes of Caldas de S. Jorge, Pigeiros and Escapães, several elements reveal the historical relationship between local communities and the river, including watermills, weirs, bridges, water channels and the former paper factory.

Along the Uíma valley, this trail reveals a riverside landscape where nature and heritage come together, with the possibility of visiting the Chouso Waterfalls via a short detour.
