PR14 PTL - Trilho das Portelas

The PR14 PTL - Portelas Trail is a circular hiking trail located in the municipality of Ponte De Lima, with a total length of 14.7 km. This trail begins at the Nosso Senhor do Socorro Sanctuary, an 18th-century Rococo mountain sanctuary, famous for its imposing staircase flanked by biblical figures and angels. Classified as moderately difficult, it features a cumulative elevation gain of 440 meters and part of the route coincides with the Camino de Santiago, passing by the famous "Cruz dos Franceses". In the context of PR14 PTL, "portelas" refer to mountain passes that connect different valleys and slopes. Along the trail, hikers cross several "portelas", each with unique characteristics and spectacular panoramic views.
