PR3 FLG - Levadas de Jugueiros

The PR3 FLG - Levadas de Jugueiros is a circular trail that crosses rural landscapes in the municipality of Felgueiras, following several sections of traditional irrigation channels once used to water agricultural fields and power old watermills. The route develops alongside the Bugio and Ferro rivers, combining natural, hydraulic and historical heritage. Along the trail, several elements associated with the medieval period stand out, such as the Travassós Bridge and the Barrias Stone Path, testimonies to the historical occupation and circulation in this region. One of the most distinctive sections of the route is the Barrias area, characterised by the Bugio River sinkhole, waterfalls and the ecological diversity found throughout the valley. The trail allows visitors to observe a landscape where agricultural areas, watercourses, riparian vegetation and traditional water-related structures coexist. The natural and historical surroundings provide a walk marked by rural character and by the connection between human activity and the territory.
