PR5 CBC - Trilho do Pisão e do Nariz do Mundo

The PR5 CBC - Trilho do Pisão e do Nariz do Mundo is a circular trail located in the Serra da Cabreira, in the northern area of the municipality of Cabeceiras de Basto. The route crosses mountain landscapes marked by deep valleys, watercourses, rural villages, and extensive forest areas, combining natural heritage with traces of traditional activities linked to the use of water resources. One of the main points of interest along the trail is the Pisão, an old building located beside the Ribeira de Cavez, formerly used for fulling wool and grinding cereals. Although currently in ruins, it is still possible to observe some elements of the old hydraulic structure associated with the site. The trail develops along the mountain slopes, crossing rural areas such as the Meijoadela meadows and the village of Moscoso, known for its preserved traditional architecture. Another highlight of the route is the Nariz do Mundo, a natural viewpoint overlooking the Ribeira de Cavez valley, as well as the Poço das Relvas waterfall, integrated into the mountainous landscape of the Serra da Cabreira. The surrounding landscape combines forest paths, pasture areas, watercourses, and mountain sections with steep slopes, offering a walk marked by diverse scenery and close contact with the region's natural and rural elements.
