PR5 PPS - Percurso Pedestre do Pessegueiro

The PR5 PPS - Pessegueiro Walking Route (Percurso Pedestre do Pessegueiro) is a loop route of around 3.8 km, starting and ending at Pessegueiro River Beach. The route follows both banks of the Ribeira da Loisa, alternating between riverside areas, old paths, pine woodland and village streets.

Next to the starting point stands the former Pessegueiro olive oil mill, restored and now adapted as a bar. Along the route there are old water channels and paths once used by the local population, in a landscape shaped by the relationship between the stream, the village and the surrounding agricultural and forest areas.

The route also passes near the Village of Pisão, now in ruins, before returning to Pessegueiro along paths close to the stream. Back in the village, the route crosses narrow streets with schist houses before returning to the river beach.

On warmer days, Pessegueiro River Beach offers the chance to complement the walk with a break by the stream.
