The Fróia River Beach Trail is a loop route that explores the surroundings of the Fróia stream, in Proença-a-Nova, crossing a landscape marked by mountains, pine forests and native vegetation.
The route follows dirt paths along the hillside, staying close to the stream, where small waterfalls and water features accompany the walk. Along the trail it is possible to observe species such as rockroses, brooms, heathers and rosemary, characteristic of this region.
One of the highlights of the route is the village of Pedreira, a former schist village associated with agricultural activities and the water mills that once existed along the stream. Near the village there are also old schist storage structures, once used to store olives before being processed into olive oil.
The route ends again near Fróia River Beach, allowing walkers to complement the hike with a break by the water, in a setting where the natural landscape of the stream is the main feature.
