The Vineyards Trail is a circular route in the municipality of Castelo de Paiva, running through rural areas, vineyards, woodland, hills and valleys. Over approximately 12.7 km, the route allows walkers to discover different landscapes of Terra de Paiva, with particular interest in the Sardoura River valley and the surroundings of the Paiva valley. The trail crosses a landscape shaped by agriculture, vineyards and small rural settlements. Among the places associated with the route are the Amieira valley, the village of Vilar, Quintã in Real, the charcoal kilns in Bairros and the vineyards of Fundões, elements that help interpret human occupation and the traditional uses of this territory. The connection to the rural world is one of the main features of the trail. The vineyards, agricultural fields, forest paths and old areas linked to charcoal production show the diversity of activities that have shaped the local landscape over time. By combining agricultural areas, woodland and views over the Sardoura and Paiva valleys, this trail offers a varied reading of the landscape of Castelo de Paiva, bringing together rural heritage, nature and agricultural memory in a circular route.
