The PR1.1 BNV - Samora Correia Circuit is a shorter variant of the Lezírias Route, allowing walkers to complete a circular trail around Samora Correia.
With around 13 km, this circuit crosses a landscape shaped by the Almansor and Sorraia rivers, agricultural fields, rice fields and embankments that protect the lezírias from seasonal floods.
The presence of water is one of the central elements of the trail, associated with the rivers, irrigation channels and traditional agricultural water management systems of the Sorraia valley. The open landscape reveals the strong connection between agriculture, water and the territory.
Around Samora Correia, the Almansor River was historically important as a communication route and as support for agricultural and forestry activity. Along the walk, it is also possible to observe birds associated with wetlands and open fields, such as the grey heron, white stork and common kestrel.
This circuit is a shorter option for those who want to discover part of the Lezírias Route without completing the full route, focusing mainly on the Samora Correia area and the surrounding agricultural landscape.
